Tuesday | Students will be introduced to the Crucifixion of Jesus, begin to understand His sacrifice and utilize art for interpreting the Crucifixion. |
Wednesday | Students will expand their understanding of the Crucifixion by studying scripture directly related to Jesus' sacrifice for our sins (Luke 23: 33-49 and John 19:34-35). |
Thursday | Students will learn that Jesus died on the Cross for each one of us, understand why he suffered the wounds He did and directly relate His death and suffering to our redemption. |
Friday | Students will relate previous lessons toward understanding the definition of Crucifixion and Iniquity (sin). |
Monday | No School - Labor Day |
Tuesday | Students will read, identify spelling patterns, and write 15 words with "short oi and ou" sounds. Additionally, students will show how to write sentences that demonstrate an understanding of word meaning. |
Wednesday | Students will learn to identify Prepositional Phrases (In, with, and during). Additionally, they will understand that a Prepositional Phrase tells more about what happened in a sentence; they tell us how, when, or where. |
Thursday | Students will learn dictionary skills by utilizing 10 vocabulary words identified in previous literature studies and utilizing a dictionary to locate definitions. |
Friday | Students will successfully complete the weekly spelling test. |

Tuesday | Students will continue to learn strategies that assist them with solving subtraction equations through mental math applications. |
Wednesday | Students will continue to learn strategies that assist them with solving subtraction equations through mental math applications. |
Thursday | Students will apply addition and subtraction strategies toward finding the Sum and Difference if Math equations. Additionally, they will learn Math terminology directly related to addition and subtraction. |
Friday | Students will be introduced to Word Problems, identify key terms that assist with their ability to apply the appropriate Math strategies, and compare solution techniques. |
Wednesday | Students will learn about St. Benedict of Nursia, the early collapse of Roman culture, barbarian invasions, and how Justinian I came to an end. Additionally, students will understand how Monks were men who dedicate their lives to God through the practice of poverty, chastity, and obedience. |
Thursday | Students will expand on their knowledge of St. Benedict, develop an understanding of what a monastery is and learn of St. Benedict's "Rule of St. Benedict" and how it influenced how Monks lived in the past and today. |
Friday | Students will learn of Pope St. Gregory the Great and how he used St. Benedict's teachings to bring discipline and good government to the Church. |
