Research has shown that students who participate in academic and extracurricular activities score higher on achievement and assessment tests than those who do not. We also have found that participants whose parents are actively involved in working with their children in extracurricular academic programs have the greatest success in competition and in their future academic studies.
St. Mary’s Catholic School participates yearly in the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) extracurricular academic program in the elementary and middle school divisions. Our students do extremely well each year at district competitions, and many advance to state-level competitions. They cannot do it alone. They need coaches to help them navigate the complexities of each event. This is where you come in. Please consider helping coach a group of interested students in one of next year's competitions. Dedicated parent coaches make all the difference!
