October 5th students will complete a community service project in the O'Reilly Building making sandwiches for Feed My Sheep beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will count for 1.5 hours of community service. I have posted my lesson plans in Renweb so that through your parent portal you may see what your child will learn this week in math, science, history, English and reading, as well as religion.
All students have participate in selecting an Accelerated Reader book from the library. They were given a brief online vocabulary assessment and given a grade-level range they should be choosing books to read. After each book read, students take on online AR test comprised of 10 questions related to what they have read. I will be taking a 9 weeks grade for their participation in Accelerated Reader on October 9th.
Students are required to complete 3 hours of community service each nine weeks. They will be given a sheet to document their time as well as write about their learning experience. This community service will count toward a nine weeks test grade in religion. The due date for the first nine weeks community service will be October 9th.
I welcome your communication with me, and want you to take any opportunity to set conference times or email. My teacher conference times this year are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 1:20-2:20. I can certainly accommodate an after school conference when necessary, due to conflicting work schedules.
