NWEA Map testing - Language Arts will take place on Tuesday this week.
Here is what they will be learning this week.
Religion: Students will study Jesus and "The Sermon on the Mount"
Math: Students will recognize perpendicular and parallel lines that form quadrilaterals.. There will be homework on Monday and Wednesday this week.
Language Arts & Reading: Students will continue studies in extended vocabulary in short stories. They will learn how to write a persuasive speech. They will have a spelling test on Friday this week.
Students are required to read 20 minutes each night and take the AR tests online at school upon completion of each book read. A 9-week participation grade is taken for each student.
Science: Students will differentiate between inherited and acquired physical traits of organisms.in chapter 9 of the McGraw Hill text.
History: Students will read and study "The Cold War" from Stories of Civilization. There will be a test on Friday.
I welcome your communication with me, and want you to take any opportunity to set conference times or email. My teacher conference times this year are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 1:20-2:20. I can certainly accommodate an afterschool conference when necessary, due to conflicting work schedules.
